| Where did I ever say that I agreed with freezing Council Tax? That made us feel uncomfortable too. That is the problem with having Councils with national parties running them. There are a couple of Councils in the UK I think which don't. It was only because of the control taken by Central Government with their initiative of wanting to create a country of homeowners who would always vote for them that the housing problem increased so much and Councils were forced to look for other ways to fund the creation of homes for those needing them. Just calling something 'affordable' does not make it affordable to a great many people. The bright idea of Govt reducing red tape and regulation in the building industry has caused huge tragedy, expenditure and ill health and still needs a whole lot of attention. Perhaps you have never noticed how little garden waste many people put out during the winter. As I've been busy doing other things I won't have done everything already - although of course we have all been told not to do as much clearing up for the winter as that means that you are destroying all the overwintering and pupating insects... |
