Topic: Is it wrong to hope Trump gets COVID-19?

Was very sorry to hear that Boris Johnson has caught coronavirus even though I am not his number one fan. With a pregnant girlfriend it must be an especially worrying time for him and I hope he pulls through.

It struck me though it is not as clear cut should Trump catch the disease. His vanity and ineptitude has led to America having the highest number of cases in the world and he still appears to be a major bar to an effective policy response. It isn't an exaggeration to say that hundreds of people will die because of him. That raises the ethical question as to whether it is wrong to hope he gets ill or even dies because if he does many better people than him will live.
