| It's what I call selectivity. Your post is what I call fair comment. My recent experience in crisis intervention by Ealing Police had me full of praise for the Officers involved. However over recent years my experiences of day to day local law and order services has made me very critical of the implementaton of the 2004 Safer Neighbourhood Policing (SNP) initiative. In my Electoral Ward of 14,000 people there are no Police Officers actually based in the Ward. There is no Police Station or Police 'shop' in the Ward. So how exactly could SNP work effectively? I do see Police Officers and PCSOs cycling into the Ward in the morning and cycling out of the Ward at night. Is this really the zenith of modern policing in the 21st Century? Perhaps the elected Councillor responsible for law and order services can explain to us all in this thread how the arrangements for policing in our borough will reduce our very high rate of notifiable offences in general and violent crime in particular. |
