In the Borough there are many different types of facilities and some fantastic parks. When i lived in Perivale the Golf was popular and the running track nearby was well used. When i moved to Hanwell I enjoyed wonderful walks and the Brent river had a lot of natural beauty around it. The various controversies over warren farm leave that status unresolved. But in the Borough the provision of a Golf Course for many years that was accessible to less well heeled golfers was a valuable asset. It is an expensive pastime at many private clubs in order to keep the riff raff out. But a municipal golf course alongside swimming pools and other facilities adds to the diversity of a Borough. Perivale Golf Course is not an elitist luxury but a place where locals can play nine holes and not need to drive a Jaguar and afford big membership fees. It is a community asset |
