The issue with your lengthy post starts with the view that everything is political. The environment and having a planet for generations to come is beyond political, it is far more important. LTNs may or may not be the best method by which to reduce usage of cars. However at least there was action. Your view is that if the people don’t want something it shouldn’t happen. Sadly if your view was predominant, we would simply continue killing the planet. Wake up and understand that government and councils need to force change on people - enough people are not going to act of their own accord as people look at the world on a day to basis as to how it impacts them and ignore the bigger picture. NIMBYism is a disgrace and you are a proponent of it. Instead of complaining about how elected officials are subverting you, why don’t you propose alternative solutions? How would you reduce car usage in Ealing? How would you get people to act to ensure our children and their children have a world to live in? I am not a Labour supporter nor am I particularly interested in the petty politics of local government, I do though take issue with people who simply want to broadcast how hard done by they are and how corrupt every decision is, without looking at the issues in hand and suggesting viable alternatives. Sadly you are complaining for the sake of complaining. |
