I believe that we need the disable day centre facilities and the LINKS services, while some may want the arts centre. The day centre and LINKS are needed to help those who need the services provided by them. The arts centre is a want. There is no one who actually "needs" the arts centre, at least not in any life-saving capacity. The motivations of some of the groups behind the art centre are also suspect: the Questors Theatre group is a rather nepotistic clique, while Thames Valley University (TVU) seeks to provide courses to generate income to pay staff salaries and grow: its library is not open to the residents of Ealing Borough, while its students expect library desks at Ealing Library at the expense of residents! |
