| Excellent posts from Steve, Diane, F Stone, Ash, Penny & G Lord. My only objection to what you have to say is that you are far, far too polite in dealing with Marie. Marie says: "The reality is that integration does not work because ethnics don't want to embrace British life." Her use of the term "ethnics" reflects upon her own ignorance. It is a meaningless word. Marie also says: "Because of their huge numbers,they are able to form their own communities independantly(sic)" Maybe so, but perhaps they become insular as a defensive reaction to the bigotry and hostility they have received from racists like you. It was because of the demands of the racist all-white "Southall Residents Association" that Asian kids were bussed out of Southall in the 1960s and 1970s. It was a section of the white population who demanded segregation and who wanted different racial groups to live independently of one another. Btw., I am a white resident of Southall, and I find the Muslim community very easy to live with. Marie is quite possibly the most ignorant and stupid poster on this forum (with the obvious exception of Tony Price). Oh, and by the way Marie, if you're a Christian then I thank god I'm an atheist. |
