| Diane is correct about the traffic chaos which happens every Friday lunchtime as 1,500 worshippers home in on the Islamic Mosque on Singapore Road. Reliable rumours exist that as well as the existing approved planning application to build a bigger, new Mosque on the site, it's expected that an even bigger Mosque is being planned. It would attract 3,000 worshippers every Friday lunchtime. Immediately adjacent to the Mosque is the 11.5 acre would-be redevelopment site of Green Man Lane Estate (GMLE). Are there any sensible plans in the Rydon/A2Domiion/Ealing Council proposals for GMLE to provide some parking space provision for any of these 3,000 visiting worshippers? The sad answer is no there aren't. The simple answer to the question of building and expanding places of worship (or places of sport, culture, work etc) is that they are acceptable as long they do not knowingly degrade any one else's quality of life or human rights. |
