For most of the last 150 years the level of English emigration has been around 10% of the population. The major difference between our emigration and that of incomers is that we don't, and can't, go to another country to pick up benefits. How many English have successfully claimed asylum in a foreign land in the last 20 years? I am not suggesting all incomers are here for the benefits but free money must be quite an incentive otherwise they would all be in Spain or Bahrain, wouldn't they? Or can someone give me a better reason? |
