| Today I had the opportunity whilst sitting on a westbound bus to contemplate the layout at the Lido junction. The greater part of the problem does not seem to be the distance between the end of the bus lane and the traffic lights but is due to parked vehicles on the north side, between Drayton Bridge Road and Hartington Road, so forcing eastbound wide vehicles to go over the centre of the carriageway If double yellow lines were installed, or even more cheaply, parking enforcement was properly done, the problem would evaporate. Of course had the tramway gone ahead we would have had a new junction anyway. |
