Councillor Taylor has obviously gone silent. Does he have anything more to say in defence of his 'revised' position on the Council wasting our money on 'puffing itself' as he has labelled it in relation to others. As he set the challenge I'll respond again. Another example of political spin in the last issue of Around Ealing is on p4 in relation to the Council's planning enforcement service which we all know is absolutely dismal in Ealing. The mag says they are now enforcing problems with applications 'more effectively than at any time in the past'. This is an evaluative statement concerning the Council's current performance and as such it is subjective conjecture or 'puffing up its performance' as Councllor Taylor would say if he were to be consistent. There is no context, no comparators given to back it up and therefore it should not be portrayed as factual in a publically funded publication. It belongs in Tory funded propaganda only - if it belongs anywhere at all. It is an abusive misuse of public money. |
