| The Gazette never seems to contain any stories which could be said to challenging of the Council and one doubts if it can really be said to be independent any more in any real meaning of the word. It appears to be afraid to upset the Council - presumably incase the latter withdraws any more business and it ends up going the same way as the Ealing Times. The Ealing Times's demise is indeed unfortunate as it appeared to be genuinely more independent than the Gazette papers. |
