| AE has always been a puff sheet for whoever was in power.It is a waste of money as are translations into so-called community languages. When I was a councillor I enquired what surveys had been done to find out how many people were illiterate in English but literate in another language. It has never been done. So I said translations were a waste of money and for my pains I was accused of being racist in an Indian newspaper. In the same issue was an article lamenting poor levels of literacy in India. |
