| The issue everyone should be most concerned about is too many people. The 2021 census results were published yesterday, showing Ealing is the third most populous borough in London, it’s increase outstripping the London average over the past 10 years. That’s not going to stop given the continued mania for building big towers. This is putting increased stress on already stretched infrastructure. The census also showed that Ealing had an ageing population, whilst numbers of late twenty somethings had dropped hugely. That’s certainly part of the demographic the cycling infrastructure is supposed to cater for. The numbers of young children - another key cohort for the cycling lobbyists - has similarly dropped dramatically. Still, more space in the bike lanes. |
