| The dilemma I have with this is that one's natural reaction, when an emergency service vehiclw approaches from the rear, is to pull over to give them room to pass. When the cycle lane or bus lane is a 'full width' lane then you stay were you are and let the emergency service vehicle use the cycle lane or bus lane. In circumstances where it is less than a full width lane is one now meant to delay the emergency service vehicle for fear of risking a hefty fine? I understand that entering the lane to permit such vehicles to pass is not a 'prescribed reason' to avoid a fine although video evidence to prove the reason to enter the lane would be available from the enforcement cameras. |
