Whatever our views on Abortion, this consultation is more about whether peaceful protest is allowed. If harassment is occurring then it should be dealt with. If the protesters are there to help then they should just help. But if any poor woman going into the clinic is subjected to any abuse then that is wrong. My fear is that this could set a dangerous precedent. I believe that it is the Women's choice at the end of the day. I am also a Christian. But the real concern is whether our authorities could use this as a precedent to deny free speech and protest (especially against the council???? in other circumstances - claiming people are subject to abuse). A better solution to this must be found. If there is CCTV of harassment then use existing laws to deal with it. |
