| I am resoundingly pro-choice but don't believe the Council is doing the right thing in this case. At one point I would have been supportive of a ban and expected the people who support the vigil to be religious zealots. However, having heard the calm way their spokespeople have communicated their point of view in the media and listened to their arguments I now believe they should be allowed to stay. That said I still think that the law should be rigidly enforced and any harassment of women entering the building should be reported to the police. I do appreciate that the presence of the vigil could make what is a terrible day for a woman a bit worse but there will also be women for whom the support offered will be welcomed or who may be being pressured into a termination. |
