| I can't understand what all this fuss about more stop and shop bays is about. Considering the fact that in the 20 or so years that I have lived in this area there has never been any 'stop and shop bays there. I use the Lane on a regular basis and whenever I happen to stop there on my home I do not have any difficulty in parking either in the Lane itself or in one of the side roads off it. With regards to Alan question about Drayton Bridge Road 'illegal' pavement parking, no Alan, you do not need a Lib Dem council. The old Conservative administration has addressed the problem! As 'ex' local Hobbayne councillor, I have spent the last four years lobbying for funding to sort the problem out. Finally last March I have received the good news that funding has been allocated as part of the 'north/south corridor scheme' and I was working with officers on a plan to resolve the situation. As I am no longer in the council it is now up to the Labour administration and the new councillors to take on where I left. The funding is there, a provisional scheme has been worked out, let's hope that they will be implementing it. |
