Fat chance of any coherent explanation other than ‘cost savings’ (minimal, about £170k over four years and swallowed up by the increase in cabinet members on £25,000 a year allowances). I doubt the contamination will be any worse than found in the many factory sites around the borough, including some of the premises around Stirling Road. I wonder what’s lurking below the surface of all that TfL land alongside the Piccadilly Line? This is just land banking, waiting for a better moment to build. Don’t forget Ealing is overloaded with unsellable flats at present. |
