Charity shops won’t take everything, particularly anything that’s broken. And that’s when they are open. Many had too much stock after the last lockdown. That situation is likely to happen again this time. And getting together with neighbours for bulky waste collection? All very well in theory but unlikely in practice. You can end up with an unwanted item sitting around for weeks. It’s £40 per collection as well, which is a disincentive to some. Of course, they could have local waste and recycling facilities for people to take things to.... |
