If it’s a choice between closing libraries or spending your cash on vanity projects like Aroubd Ealing magazine (which , contrary to propaganda, doesn’t even get delivered to every home in the borough), then keeping libraries wins every time. There’s slush money all over Ealing but it’s not going to community infrastructure. As revealed in Private Eye today Cllr Bell and his mates were treated to £60,000 of flights and hospitality in Cannes earlier this year by all the developers currently vying to sling up the tallest towers in the borough. Yet precious little s106 money finds its way from these organisations to fund services. These cuts from central government are nothing new, they have been happening for years, yet for years Cllr Bell refused to raise council tax as a vote grabbing measure. Now the financial chickens are coming home to roost he’s culling libraries, definitely places those on low incomes or are disadvantaged need. But Julian carries on regardless, destroying the borough bit by bit. He is shameless. |
