| Just remember that in 2005 Ealing Council outsourced the ownership and maintenance of Ealing's street lighting to EDF Energy in a PFI deal - for which the Council received over £20 million. EDF subsequently 'sold' this PFI contract to Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE). It SSE that is replacing and maintaining Ealing's 14,500 street lights. So Council staff are essentially the link to the commercial company that run our street lighting. |
