| The council aren’t Nazis. If anything they act more like the elites who ran the Soviet Union and its satellite states. Talk the talk of equality and fairness but look after themselves first and foremost and ignore, silence or discredit opposition. The coverage of politics locally is piss poor. Things that will have a massive impact on people are either not reported or barely mentioned. There’s certainly no digging down to expose lies and misrepresentation. We get a propaganda sheet in Around Ealing, paid for by us(!), and what it should contain is often absent. As reported elsewhere on this forum they don’t even publish councillor contact details now. Meanwhile the council abdicates responsibility at will (the John Lewis redevelopment for one) and subsidises pet projects that benefit very few (Ealing Town Hall). Anyone asking questions is met with a wall of silence. Open, honest and transparent? Not on your nelly! |
