| Peter, you are right and that is exactly what Sadiq Khan said: "Some of those who've got legitimate objections [about ULEZ] joining hands with some of those outside, who are part of a far-right group." and "Some of those outside are part of the far right. Some are Covid deniers, some are vaccine deniers." He is not labelling everyone who is against ULEZ as far-right, but warning those who have legitimate concerns that they are standing together in a protest with people who are. You yourself are 'bandying around' the accusation that Ealing Council are acting like Nazis. Now there is plenty about Ealing Council that I don't like or agree with, but I don't call them Nazis because that is just a childish thing to do, and would make me look highly immature. I'd prefer to bring these concerns to them in a mature and adult manner. Also, I may be against schemes which I consider foolhardy, but I wouldn't label someone who implements them as a Nazi. Personally I am not against ULEZ, but if I was, I would think that there must be enough people who support it for Sadiq Khan to win a third term as mayor of London. And I would look around and wonder why so many people joining me on my protests are also waving Far-right banners and Covid-denying placards. To be perfectly honest, I'm a bit confused about your initial comment (on the other post, ages ago) as it was about Khan's comments on ULEZ and also Peter Mason being a Nazi. Are they meant to be two seperate comments? Because I don't see the correlation. Also, what are you saying is undemocratic? Because to me 'public opinion' would mean democratically voting in a mayor three times. Finally, just don't call people Nazis. All the best, Dominik |
