The majority of older homes don't have garages and neither will the majority of new ones. Many homes are now divided and lived in by multiple families and those able to drive motor vehicles. Exxon knew 50 years ago that the burning of fossil fuels was a problem and yet they kept on promoting it and denying the problems it was causing to the climate. They were not the only oil company to know. Other scientists knew and warned us but were largely ignored. We have had politicians who have not only not told the truth but have actively denied any connection and when Extinction Rebellion called on them to "Tell the Truth" tried their very hardest to silence them. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/sep/14/exxonmobil-documents-wall-street-journal-climate-science It is obvious that we should be reducing our dependence on oil and great steps have and are still being made. COP29 has just finished. It's time to wake up, take your head out of the sand and become a part of the transition away from oil - and that means being a part of the change and not expecting to be able to ALWAYS clog up the roads with your own large (and often polluting) metal box with wheels. Why aren't you campaigning for better public transport? |
