Diane, I’m sorry that you found a hole in your loaf and sorry too if Penny thinks our bread is dry and prefers Co-op or Waitrose. We make and bake our bread daily from scratch using a ‘sponge and dough’ method of 18 hours fermentation. Holes can sometimes form due to excess gassing of the yeast or inadequate hand moulding of the dough whilst being prepared. We are not a factory and are proud to uphold age old and proven methods to keep up the standards that we are known for. We bake properly and fully in our oven and if that is what you think produces dry bread compared with the mass produced, minimum bake alternative then you must pay your money and take your choice. Taste the difference did not start at Sainsburys. |
