I had a walk down Northfields avenue and noticed the old Northfields Carpet Center at No.74 is completely gone, Jacksons wine bar at 78 is closed, Terracotta at 92 seems to be closed. Wrights the Hardware place is long gone and the old 'Owl and the Pussycat' shop is still empty. The only businesses proliferating are estate agents. I've also heard rumour that Tesco is going. I wonder why so many shops are empty right now?
