Since changing my route from work home and walking from Northfields tube station up to where I live I have shopped there more than I used to: Some observations... The Wine shop near the top seems good value. Today I bought 3 bottles of Casillero del Diablo wine for £12 (buy 2 get 3rd free) The same wine in Sainsbury's is currently £6.99 per bottle. The party shop is quite a lot more expensive than Amazon, but they are very friendly and knowledgeable. Parkers is a very busy bakery! An unsliced wholemeal loaf is £1.44. Can't say I can tell the difference between their bread and supermarket unsliced. Poisson seems good value and again the service is excellent. I have yet to treat myself to a sneaky coffee and cake on the way home at one of the new cafes/bakeries - but hope to soon! Oh and lastly The Plough is a good pub! For those of you that haven't taken a stroll down the Avenue recently you should try it! Any other recommendations or observations about 'The avenue'? PS - I am not being paid to post this, or have any vested interest other than supporting our local traders. |
