Some people have been doing basic tests on the stagnant water in the Elers Road /Church Lane part of the park which was meddled with a few years ago. All produced concerning results , But fell on deaf ears when flagged up. No-one accepts any responsibility at LBE or Thames Water who simply refer back to LBE. But LBE also has a rather lethargic non existent Public Health dept..or is supposed to except that too seems to be non existent except for issuing leaflets promoting council funded issues which usually turn out to be flaky and box ticking only. The glossy brochure for the scheme that is nothing short of rank amateur, proclaimes a "water play adventure for kids". Nothing at all about how this will be maintained in a 100% safe way how wilding features will be mitigated as that means animal urine, vomit and faeces in and around the water and cross contamination by species, transmission of this by birds and domestic animals as well as propagation of airborne disease caring insects and until the past 3 years the profusion of Horse Flies in the vicinity which liken a bee or wasp sting or a mite bite to a drop in the ocean |
