With over 30% of West Ealing residents not owning a car I don't see why they should have their lives inconvenienced by those who do?

For the UK to succeed in hitting its legally binding climate change targets and to address the obesity crisis AND our chronic air pollution that ends the lives of thousands of people early each year we have to move away from being so car dominated.

West Ealing is hostile for humans as we can see by the terrible statistics of injuries to pedestrians and cyclists every year. Go to http://www.crashmap.co.uk/ and enter West Ealing - every icon on that map is a pedestrian or cyclist's life being altered by being hit by a car or lorry. We have normalised this! The only way to address this is to make things harder for motorists and the simplest way of doing this is to remove their car parking.

A liveable human (of all ages) neighbourhood is not compatible with the motor car.

These parklets and the planned seating will all make it easier for those less mobile to get out and walk to the shops and have a nicer experience when they do.

If we look at similar areas in France the car has been completely removed from the equation and the town and village centres are thriving from both a retail but more importantly a community point of view.

Let's remove as many cars as we can and make West Ealing a great place for humans.
