It doesn't take much reasoning to see that we can only build upwards to meet accommodation demand. The hideous consequence of all SEC lobbying against buildings like the Glenkerrin project will eventually result in local government giving permission to build on the small amount of green land left in Ealing. There is no other alternative. So in 2020 we may have work in progress in Gunnersbury/Walpole/Lammas/Pitshanger Parks, and any other patches of green in and around Ealing. They will start by nibbling around the corners - Gunnersbury has already been put forward as a possible, currently not going ahead, but it is only a matter of time. Unfortunately it may result only in social housing rather than a combined private/social mix which would ensure decent upkeep.
