I know a lot of things - for instance, being brought up in the countryside where foxes were common, they would not approach humankind at all, preferring to live in the fields and surrounding woods. Seeing a fox there was rare and a lovely sight. Since moving to the city I have noticed how common and how destructive they are and yes they are a menace to all and sundry. They do not belong in urban areas and should be discouraged. Matters are not helped by so-called animal lovers leaving food out for them and people leaving rubbish out for them to scavenge. Fast food restaurants are also guilty of this, which calls for stricter regulations for them in the disposal of waste food. This would also impact on the rat and mice population which would decrease as well as they would search for other food sources. Oh yes - my previous point was meant for those people who aren't capable of looking at the complete picture and are content with looking at things in a very narrow minded fashion. |
