Foxes are vermin and are not protected. However, poisoning them is not allowed, using a snare is also outlawed. Culling upsets people for a number of reasons and is not practcal in an area such as Ealing. Humane traps can be used but releasing the animal is illegal. Relocating them "in the countryside" won't work as urban Foxes don't have the skills needed to survive. Chemical repellents are said to work, Scoot is a name that comes up time and time again. Human urine (Male) is also said to work, but I think this is more of a lazy gardeners tale that appeals to peoples "organic" sympathies. Logical way forward is to not provide a food source for them, these kitchen caddies might help, if there is no food they will soon realise that, for them, Ealing is a rubbish place to live and they will bugger off. |
