| We have not said that the fox is an ugly creature at all - it is a magnificent creature. It does however, belong in the countryside and not the towns and cities where it now roams. If humans refrained from feeding them scraps and fast food outlets took care in throwing out their left over chicken, we would not have the problem we now have. Foxes are now becoming more brazen and although this horrible incident is an isolated one it does show that they are becoming more of a pest than before. Numbers are on the increase and as has been suggested, perhaps some regulation on their numbers should be enforced. Now I am not suggesting fox hunting as that is a barbaric sport, but perhaps sterilisation and culling. Incidentally, I read on the BBC news website that Cornwall is beginning a culling exercise on the Grey Squirrel population. |
