I have lived in London for 26 years and moved around a lot for the first 10 years, but finally settled in Ealing almost 16 years ago. Up until then I never felt 100% at home(especially in South London), but within a few months of moving to Ealing I felt really comfortable. The people are really friendly and there is a real sense of community and where I live now in Northfields I know all my neighbours, which is kind of unheard of in most of London. It's not perfect and I agree with some of the things that have been said about the lack of amenities and bad planning, but not many places are perfect so you just have to decide what are the most important things for you. On balance I think Ealing offers enough for a suburb and has excellent transport links for getting both in and out of London. I really Like Richmond, but in Ealing we have access to the central, district & piccadilly lines as well as the train to Paddington. I don't drive so this is also important to me. Also, Ealing has lots of green spaces and more trees than any other borough, which is lovely in the summer. Do you take advantage of everything Ealing has to offer? Would you take advantage of everything Richmond has to offer? |
