My partner and I are trying to decide whether we buy our new house in Ealing, after having lived here for over 6 years now, and to be honest, we are struggling to come up with many reasons bar the excellent transport links. For such a large town, it is bereft of many things you would expect to find - no swimming pool, no leisure centre, no department store, very few quality restaurants, poor shopping generally, no "proper" theatre, terribly run down hospital, no cinema at the moment, no real live music venue - not even a half decent football team! Richmond really puts Ealing to shame on facilities. I know that most of the things I have listed can be accessed in neighbouring towns but that is not the point is it? Why do Ealing council seem hell bent on building even more flats to encourage even more people to Ealing when there is so little to do here and so few facilities? So, do we buy in Ealing or look in Richmond, Fulham, or somewhere else? |
