Flats before amenities and no strategy for Ealing. Where have we heard this before. House buying is a compromise between so many factors. I have lived in Acton,Ealing,Northolt,Privale and now Hanwell over the last 32 years and I love it here. Ealing itself has fallen behind shopping areas such as Uxbridge. I love Richmond with it's theatre and other amenities but in one way Hanwell suits me as I get into work quick, Picadilly 40 minutes. I can get to Richmond, Wembley Stadium, Uxbridge and also out to Beaconsfield relatively quickly and the house is a decent size near the Parks. Also no CPZ agro (yet!!) So whilst the amenities are important think about the space (garden?) that you would want. also whether you may need space in the future. What you say is correct and there are many people passionate about the place that they live that also agree. Sadly Ealing has perhaps had some of the most hopeless people running it over the years who have have their own myopic vision. The world has passed Ealing by and whilst this is still my corner of London I know there are things that are wrong. I think Richmond is a great choice if you have the money but do not end up in a shoe box!! |
