What is wrong with having an Assistant Leisure Manager, surely a line-manager is a "manager" not a "director"? Getting rid of most of the park rangers and a lot of the envirocrime officers has been the one thing the Ealing Labour Group has done that I think is a good thing. Both areas of Ealing Council had been taken over by eco-nutters (not ecologically aware people who I support) who have terrified countless octagenerians by illegally allowing cycling in Ealing's parks ignoring bye-laws about this, meanwhile rigidly enforcing over bye-laws regading open fires on public land to disallow family barbecues in a way that only serves to deter family use of parks. There is little harm in a barbecue if it held off the ground so that it does not burn the grass and much enjoyment for families. The danger, by contrast, in dogs urinating on the grass is much higher, as like rats, when infected with Wiel's disease (leptospiros) they can past it to humans this way. The Labour Group are doing exactly the right thing n passing the enforcement activities of the rangers onto another group. |
