Yesterday's cabinet meeting saw 2 park rangers put back into the headcount as a result of the call-in by both Tories and LibDems.  This year the ranger team headcount was 23, two team leaders, 20 rangers and an apprentice.  The Labour budget proposal was looking to reduce this to a nature conservation team of four plus a team leader and 4 area rangers.  This represented a 61% cut in headcount.  With two back on the area team that reduces the cut in headcount to 52%.  The Tories have decided to make this cut the main debating point at the next council meeting on 1st February.  It is still worth signing the petition as the budget has not been set yet.  Go to:  http://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/ealingparkrangers
