| An important issue is the EU Constitutional Treaty. According to recent opinion polls over 80% of the electorate, including clear majorities of Labour and Lib Dem supporters, want a referendum on the new EU Constitutional Treaty. The Labour Party and the Lib Dems are in favour of the new Treaty and want to impose it on the people of this country without a Referendum. That is neither Liberal nor Democratic. In contrast, the Conservative Party has promised to hold a Referendum on this most important issue. Therefore on this issue alone, if one believes in freedom and democracy, the only choice is to vote Conservative. |
