| I agree with you on this one Mr Leach. The ward forums do seem to have become an opportunity for partisan politics and for various public sector bodies such as the police and the parks management to stand up and deliver pr (public relations). I do not think that what is said merits the term "lecture" however, is is just pr. No doubt it racks up some unsocial hours overtime for council employees and fulfills the tick-boxes for customer interactions etc. in performance reviews. However, as long as we have petty cross-party sniping going on at these ward forums residents are not going to work together: there is nothing more discouraging than seeing councillors throwing sand at each in the sand box! |
