I went to a cinema last night near where I used to live on the coast. It's the first time in about 3 years and I have to say I was rather disappointed. I went to a 9pm ish showing of the third film in the Twilight series - tickets cost £8.95, bought a drink for £1.70 and a handlful of sweets (about 7 sweets in all) which came to £2.68. I had to make use of the facilities and have to say they were unclean, no toilet paper and to be frank, they smelt. The cinema (or should I say screen) could seat comfortably seat about 200 and about 20 people showed up. Admittedly the film is in its 3rd week of showing, but the kids are off on holiday so I can't see that everyone managed to cram in to see it within the first few days. Would I go again - probably not. The days where going to the cinema was a magical experience I fear is over. |
