| Cynics tell me they think this announcement is quite blatantly electioneering with Council elections just 3 weeks away. I don't hear Brendon rattling the cage in public of the developer who has threatened to build a hotel on the derelict for months site just a few yards west of the cinema; or rattling the cage publicly of would be developer of the boarded up for months old TVU building a further few yards west again down the Uxbridge Road. And for that matter we have the old BBC car park that hasn't been used for years; and Villiers House which has been empty for years; the boarded up Townhouse ....I could go on here. Brendon might be 'doing this all for the right reasons'. But that statement pre-supposes that we all concur as to what the right reasons actually are. This stuff is not easy and it's difficult to get it 'right'. |
