Power of Attorney is certainly what it's called in the UK. I suspect we had attorneys before America was thought of. Many 'American phrases' are old English ones which have died out here, such as fall for autumn and mad for angry. I don't require information; I need Job Centre Plus to take a copy of my PoA and certify that it's a true copy so I don't have to send the original to the Pensions Service, who would probably lose it. |
