| You may recall that my neighbour 2 down applied to build a garden shed two yars ago...and instead built a bungalow. The planning enforcement team said no problem. It didnt occupy more then 50pc of the garden. It wasnt too high. When I told them that electric and gas companies were installing services - again 'no problem'. Kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms - yes...'no problem'. A family has now moved in and are in residence. This surely must be against the law. Not so say Ealing Council. Theyve been told that the people living at the bottom of the garden are extended family members and as such they cannot do anything. When they ask to inspect the 'bungalow', inspectors are told its locked and the main householders dont have the keys. What a joke. So, if you want to make some cash, build a one storey in your garden occupying 49% of the garden, rent it out, tell the council they are family and lose the keys if anyone wants to snoop around. |
