Thank you for this David. I call this style of housing "unofficial densification". By employing only 8 enforcement officers the official line is that by default it is OK. By contrast there are 100 traffic wardens or whatever they are called. I understand your upset. Many similar cases have been raised on other forums. Unfortunately it is common and I am not belittling this or your problem but there is another macro side to what you have raised. That is the official negation of the real population of the borough of Ealing. The official figures are around 320,000 whereas the GP registration figures are considerably higher 349,000. This was for last year! The official figures don't reach this until after 2026 Officially no one wants to discuss this discrepancy and it gets edited out of official minutes but worse these incorrect figures are being used to formulate Ealing's Local Development Framework which will facilitate the construction of 14,000 new homes in the borough over the next 15 years. These new homes are being planned to meet Westminster and Boris targets. My argument is that we have housed the target figure already (your post supports that)and we don't need any more "densification" official or unofficial. |
