George, The suspect figures are published in the Fifth Annual Monitoring Report (AMR) which is part of the LDF process and was submitted to the Secretaary of State (John Denham?) in Dec 2009. The minutes of the LDF Scrutiny Committee (Wed 20 Jan 2010)that looked at this should be available on the council website. They contain two paras that muddle through population growth. Eric Leach and I questioned the population figures now. Not growth but today's static figure.. Not change but a snapshot. I feel the GP registrations and your comments George about your GP writing to you as mine did indicate that these are regularly updated and probably accurate. Those near a borough boundary? Maybe equal numbers coming to a GP as leaving to access a GP so they cancel each other out. I raised the problem of the figures and the minutes with the chairman Cllr Cowing at his surgery on Saturday. I think it was both a fair and robust challenge but as yet no reply. Of course we are not mentioned as being present at these scutiny meetings we are just the public making our time freely available to try to help the council perform its duties. I'd be much happier if the people were in charge of these meetings and in charge of the minutes. |
