| "I'm certain they weren't there before. Why now?" Presumably because someone realised that they were missing. Google Street View shows the no-loading time plates in place but no kerb markings. If you didn't know what the kerb markings mean, and you're not sure about the rules for bus lanes, it sounds as if it's time you read the Highway Code. |
