| I should imagine the landlords are taking a long term view; rather than letting at a reduced rent during a recession they would rather wait and pick up a tenant at a higher rate once the recovery starts. It's better for them to take the hit for 12 to 18 months rather than saddle themselves with a low income for 5 years or so. |
