| Re Reasons given are the rececession and the high cost of renting. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx thanks for the info, if people can't afford merchandise as low as £1, there ain't much hope. The high rental costs don't surprise me as they were the reasons why Morrisons and Tchibo left the Town Centre, plus pres. why so many others have done likewise. I wonder if the Council could not place an order on commercial property owners that premises be allowed to be vacant for no more than a certain period. It can't be question of no-one being interested in renting them but not being prepared or able to pay the demanded rent. Social considerations should come into the matter as well as financial greed. |
